User Groups

We’ve really got a lot in common!

Share |

Some products you use, some you endure and some you love with a passion. Perhaps no IT user community has been more passionate and devoted than IBM i users. It’s partly because IBM i quietly does exactly what it claims to do: it’s simple, it’s cost-effective and it helps companies focus on running their business, not their IT.

And while their applications may be different, IBM i users all have access to the same integrated DB2 database, the same virtualization and hypervisor technologies, and the same development and management tools. There’s so much to talk about when you have that much in common.

As the world’s largest professional association of IBM technology users, COMMON provides advocacy, networking and education. It is joined by the many internationally affiliated COMMON user groups, the Intermediate Systems User Conference in Japan, the online communities like midrange.com and the many successful local user groups like NiSUG, NEUGC, TUG, WMPCA, OCEAN and LISUG.

While they all have their unique traditions and characters, perhaps IBM Champions best embody the passion and spirit of the IBM i user community.

Certainly, no one can claim any greater credit for the longevity of IBM i than its devoted and passionate user community.
