Going Deep with Machine Learning

Artificial intelligence (AI) refers to the ability of a computer to think, infer, act and learn. Basically, it’s cognitive behavior exhibited by machines. Machine learning, a subset of AI, involves training a computer to perform a task using large amounts of data and test cases.

Deep learning is a focused discipline within machine learning; the subset where the magic truly happens. Deep learning involves artificial neural networks—essentially, algorithms designed to mimic human thought processes. These algorithms not only enable a computer to process data in a fashion similar to the human mind, but also equip the machine to learn from its errors to continually improve performance.
