It’s not just Nardella who profits from this arrangement; Citi also benefits. He continues, “These courses may have given me an edge technically speaking, but in the end they have benefited my employer because they’ve provided some of the skills necessary to better manage a critical asset of the company, and participate in the continuous improvement of these assets.”

The IDCP program is unique in that it’s solely online courses, which attracts students worldwide. Suresh Ninan Chacko, operations engineer at the Technical Operations Center, Emirates Airlines in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, has always wanted to become a z/OS system programmer. He’s taken the initiative to develop skills through Marist’s z/OS system-programming courses, which also provide training for his current job where he provides System z operations support and is involved in troubleshooting and implementation of recovery procedures. “Advanced training and learning of modern mainframe skills will enhance my skills and expertise,” he says. “It will help me to update myself with the latest z/OS operating system, its new features and System z hardware architecture technology,” says Chacko.

He continues, “I can say that it was truly an amazing professional experience in my career, gaining an exposure to great IBM trainers, z/OS build and test team members, and Systems and Technology Group lab and research team members,” he says, referring to the instructors in the z/OS IDCP classes.”

The IDCP training programs are available online with 24-7 accessibility to class materials, libraries, online assignments, etc.
