IBM Marks 30th Anniversary for DB2

In honor of the 30th anniversary of DB2*, IBM produced a book, “IBM DB2: The Past, Present and Future,” co-authored by retired IBM Fellow and “Father of DB2” Don Haderle and IBMers John Campbell, Surekha Parekh and Terry Purcell.

In the forward, Haderle writes, “Parents never know how their children will turn out. But if they turn out well, then we take credit for it. DB2 for z/OS*, which will be 30 years old in 2013, has turned out well, and though I’d like to think it was all because of the parents, the facts are different.”

Copies of the book will be available at the IBM Information on Demand 2013 from Nov. 3-7 in Las Vegas. Learn more at ibm.com/software/data/2013-conference/.

In addition, a digital version can be downloaded at: ibm.co/ZyFNUV. For more on the 30th anniversary of DB2 for z/OS, see: www-01.ibm.com/software/data/db2/zos/30thanniversary/index.html.
