IBM is entering a new era of storage efficiency with several announcements that will extend the company’s reach into both the large enterprise and mid-market segments. The new and enhanced storage offerings demonstrate IBM’s commitment to helping clients store, manage and process data more efficiently.

IBM has invested billions of dollars in developing storage solutions that can help organizations simplify their data centers and get the most out of their existing technology investments. The Oct. 7 announcements underscore IBM’s continued commitment to storage innovation leadership. New and enhanced storage and software offerings, along with integrated services, enable businesses of all sizes to manage the influx of information and unlock new business opportunities.

Storwize V7000

One of the products being launched ushers IBM into a new era in midrange disk systems. The IBM Storwize V7000 system is IBM's first developed and produced midrange disk system. This new system includes built-in storage efficiency capabilities, a compact modular design that’s easy to expand, and a groundbreaking GUI that significantly reduces system set up and administration effort. IBM financing and implementation services are available, helping to make Storwize V7000 a quick and easy way to cut operating expenses.

The enterprise-class features of Storwize V7000 result in performance and cost benefits across the board to Information Management, Lotus and WebSphere software. Newly announced IBM Tivoli Software releases also usher in new storage management capabilities and labor efficiencies to bring down the costs of computing.
