A Happy 10 Years

July 18, 2017

Ten years ago this week--July 16, 2007, to be specific--this blog published its first post, on Universal Table Space. IBM Systems Magazine had asked me if I would consider writing a blog about Db2 for z/OS. I'm not exaggerating when I say I felt like the luckiest guy in the world.

My entire career has been spent working with and around Db2,  mostly on z/OS (but also LUW). I evolved from a COBOL developer working with Db2 to a Db2 systems programmer and DBA. Then I moved to Db2 software technical sales and then to Db2 tools product manager. Today I work for IBM as a Db2 advisor. I feel privileged to have been able to follow the changes in Db2 over the years, and blessed to be able to share my knowledge and experiences through this blog.

Just for fun, here are some of the top-viewed DB2utor postings over the past few years: While it's enjoyable to look back, I'm even happier to look ahead. The purpose of DB2utor has always been to provide information and help Db2 pros improve their skills. So if there's a topic you'd like me to cover, please let me know.
