There are many reasons why I’m excited for the opportunity to attend TechU. I’m really excited about the chance to gain first-hand insight from clients and business partners about how their companies are embracing the diverse and feature-rich capabilities of the IBM Z platform. I can’t wait to see how they’re making the journey to adapt quickly to business requirements by modernizing their environment and applications.
In addition to the opportunity to connect with clients and business partners, attending TechU gives people a chance to learn from the IBM experts on topics ranging from foundational mainframe concepts to the latest developments in areas like security, cloud, DevOps and open source. For me, the coolest part is seeing how these areas can work in harmony to help companies modernize their business in order to respond to the needs of their customer base in the fast-paced world we live in. There’s always so much to learn, and TechU is a fantastic way to build skills, whether you’re an experienced mainframe user or just getting started.
Networking with colleagues is another aspect of the conference I’m looking forward to. It’s not often that I get the chance to network with IBM Z experts from around the world and hear about the ways they’re tackling operational obstacles and innovating on this platform. It’s an exciting time to be a part of the IBM Z mainframe community and certainly an exciting time for the platform.
If you’re also a first-time attendee to TechU or perhaps just getting started, you might want to add the 2019 TechU z/OS Fast Start for Rookies track to your agenda. This IBM Z-related track can be used to earn an IBM Digital Badge.
More seasoned attendees might find the following tracks:
- 2019 TechU Pervasive Encryption Fast Start
- 2019 TechU DevOps Fast Start for IBM Z
- 2019 TechU LinuxONE Fast Start for Linux Admins
And if you can't attend TechU in Las Vegas, be sure to check out other TechU events around the world. All deliver the same in-depth technical training and professional networking opportunities as TechU Las Vegas.
